Hello Sammie!
How are you? Are you excited that spring is here? I know that I am!
I just love all of the ‘newness’ outside! There are new flowers, new grass, new leaves on the trees, and best of all, we get to help some ‘new’ things grow! We can plant flowers and vegetables and fruits! I really enjoy doing that – it is so exciting to watch things grow that I planted myself!
There also lots of creatures out and about that were not around in the winter. Just a little while ago, I saw the prettiest white butterfly flitting about in my backyard.
It is fun to watch the squirrels come back out, and all of the birds that have been gone for the winter.
It is so nice to hear all of the birds singing again. There is a story about a little girl who goes out on the first day of spring to look for the robin whose singing she so enjoyed the year before. The book is called, My Spring Robin by Anne Rockwell. The little girl goes outside and before she finds the robin, she finds all kinds of signs of spring in her backyard: toads, earthworms, and lots of new flowers and bushes. The pictures in this book are so cheery and bright – I know you will love it!
I hope you will go outside and enjoy all of the wonderful ‘newness’ of spring!
I also hope you remember to:
Go Read A Book!!
With all my love, Mrs. Lisa
